African Mahogany ( Khaya Senegalensis)is now considered commercially extinct in many countries where it occurs naturally and is regarded as an endangered species in the wild is well suited to the dry tropics of Australia. The species selected for plantation purposes has a short to medium growth period (15-20 year rotation), with ability to coppice and regrow. Mahogany timber is used for a range of timber products including veneer for decorative panels, slabs for high value furniture and timber flooring.
